What size are our double-walled shipping boxes?

Our worldwide shippers offer strong boxes designed to protect your precious items during long journeys. Made from chemically strengthened, double-walled cardboard, our most popular containers are Large and Standard (see exact dimensions below). Order more than you need, and we'll collect any new and unused shipping boxes at no extra cost.

We also have specially shaped boxes made from the same quality materials for musical instruments and sports equipment, such as guitars, skis, and golf clubs. Securely prepare them at home, and we'll box them at our nearest depot.

You can use your own boxes. However, please avoid plastic crates, laundry bags, used food boxes, and bin liners, as such weak containers could easily break and damage your entire shipment.

Send luggage abroad with our 4-step packing guide

Securely packing your belongings before shipping them to Abu Dhabi is a must. So, we strongly recommend using a professional packing service. Otherwise, take it slowly and use our best tips below. For more comprehensive packing advice, check out How to choose a box for shipping and Preparing large items for collection.

Secure your box:

Gather together all your packing materials, such as scissors and strong parcel tape. Seal the box's base by folding in the small flaps and then the bigger flaps and securing them with several overlapping layers of tape.

Cover any exposed edges with more parcel tape, then wrap all around the base. Once your box is full of items, seal the lid similarly.

Treat fragile items carefully:

Cover everything with two layers of bubble wrap and use multiple layers for delicate or expensive things. Place your heaviest goods along the box's bottom, and place lighter things above them and in from the walls.

Fill gaps with soft materials like packing paper or towels. Then, gently shake the box — if it makes a sound, add more soft materials until it's silent.

Complete your inventory:

Log in to your account and list everything you're shipping to Abu Dhabi. Customs officials in the UAE will see it, so be accurate to avoid fines or delays.

Then, take a black marker pen and write your job number, box number, and the shipment owner's destination country and city on two sides of every box. Ensure all details match by double-checking your inventory.

Be prepared for collection day:

To protect you and our driver, the maximum weight for each container is 30kg/66lbs. Weigh everything one at a time on bathroom scales — if it exceeds the limit, remove some items and place them in a lighter container.

For a stress-free collection day, move all your containers as close to your building's entrance as possible the evening before.

The website is easy to use and their quote price is exactly what I have to pay - no hidden charges. Seven Seas Worldwide updated me at all stages and I could track my shipment on the website. Exciting attractions in Abu Dhabi's most popular districts

Abu Dhabi boasts wide boulevards, marble mosques, cultural institutions, and waterfront promenades. From contemporary museums to traditional souks and tranquil islands, the UAE's capital quietly invites discovery.

Here's our visitor's guide to 4 of Abu Dhabi's most-visited districts:

Al Zahiyah

Al Zahiyah, formerly the Tourist Club Area, is a popular city centre district with extensive shopping options, a lively atmosphere, and walkable access to coastal paths and green spaces.

Browse over 200 brands under one roof: the Abu Dhabi Mall features many international names, a cinema, and a food court. It's close to popular hotels like Beach Rotana and Le Meridien Abu Dhabi.

Take a long family stroll by the coast: a short walk from Al Zahiyah sits the Corniche Road, which has 8km of designated pedestrian paths, kids' play areas, bike lanes, beaches and picture-perfect parks.

Unwind with a luxurious treatment: tucked inside Le Meridien hotel, Eden Spa boasts massage therapy, Moroccan baths, steam rooms, and a chill-out garden area — ideal for a mid-trip refresh.

Discover some unique local flavours: the bustling Electra Street features a variety of shops— from electronics to traditional markets— and authentic dining options. Plus, lively family parks and convenient public transport options.

Saadiyat Island

Saadiyat Island blends arts, nature, and leisure along its scenic coastline. It's home to major museums, family-friendly beaches, upscale hotels, and centres celebrating local heritage.

Experience a piece of Paris: the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a joint venture by the UAE and France. Discover art and artefacts from around the world and a stunning, latticed-dome roof that casts colourful light patterns on the galleries below.

Spot some dolphins: Saadiyat Beach is free for public use. Enjoy crystal clear waters, sun loungers, eco-friendly facilities, and, if you're lucky, you might spot nesting turtles or humpback dolphins!

Witness the work of emerging local artists: Manarat Al Saadiyat is a cultural centre featuring exhibitions, workshops, talks, theatre shows and film screenings. It also hosts yearly community events and creative programmes.

Explore the Saadiyat's heritage: the Saadiyat Island Visitor Centre shines a light on the island's cultural vision, preservation efforts, ecological importance, and future plans via interactive displays and scale models.

Yas Island

Yas Island is Abu Dhabi's top destination for thrill-seekers and families. It includes record-breaking roller coasters, large-scale sporting events, waterparks, and the city's biggest shopping centre.

Ride the world's fastest roller coaster!: Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a popular theme park. Its number one attraction is the formidable Formula Rossa coaster, which reaches record-breaking speeds of up to 240 km/h

Catch a show: the Etihad Arena is an 18,000-capacity venue that hosts year-round concerts and sporting events. Notable former shows include UFC fight cards, the World Swimming Championships, and a Guns N' Roses concert.

Splash around at the city's biggest waterpark: Yas Waterworld features over 40 attractions, including rides, slides, pools and play parks. Explore kids' pools and slides, fountains and high-speed chutes (if you dare).

Shop, dine and play under one roof: at 235,000 square metres, Yas Mall is the capital's largest shopping centre. It houses hundreds of stores, restaurants, a cinema, and yearly events, including the Yas Gaming Festival and the Modest Fashion and Beauty Weekend.

Al Ain

Al Ain is a haven for history lovers, thanks to ancient landscapes shaped by early agriculture, illuminating museums and world heritage sites. Shaded oases, desert forts, and mountain viewpoints reveal a slower, storied side to the UAE's past.

Visit a 4,000-year-old retreat: Al Ain Oasis is a UNESCO-listed desert site featuring 147,000 date palm trees and an ancient underground irrigation system. Walk along scenic shaded paths and learn about traditional agriculture - for free!

Explore the UAE's oldest museum: the Al Ain National Museum contains artefacts from the region's earliest history, including discoveries from Bronze Age tombs and the Hili Archaeological Park.

Drive up a mountain: Jebel Hafeet stands 1,200 metres tall. From its highest viewpoint, witness 360° views of the Al Ain plains, nearby mountains, and the desert stretching into Oman.

Step inside an 1800s stronghold: Al Jahili Fort is one of the UAE's best-preserved former forts. Built in the 1890s to protect local date palm farmers, it now houses exhibitions within its peaceful gardens and courtyards.
