How many sizes of shipping boxes do we have?

Our international shippers offer robust boxes specially designed to protect your precious possessions. Made from chemically strengthened, double-walled cardboard, our most popular versions are Large and Standard (see below for their exact dimensions). Order more than needed, and we'll collect any boxes that remain brand-new and unused for free.

We also have specially shaped boxes made from the same high-quality cardboard for instruments and sports gear, such as guitars, snowboards and golf bags. Securely prepare them and we'll box them at our nearest depot.

You may use your own containers to pack your stuff. However, avoid plastic crates, laundry bags, used food boxes, and bin liners, as they are weak and could damage your entire shipment.

Customs clearance support in Dubai

As an experienced international shipping company, we make the customs process in Dubai straightforward. However, there are some important things to keep in mind.

Like all countries, the UAE restricts the import of certain items to protect its people and the environment. Please check out our Prohibited Goods page before packing your stuff to avoid fines or delays.

Log in to your account and complete the following documents:

  • An inventory that lists every item you're shipping to Dubai. UAE customs authorities will see this, so please ensure accuracy.
  • Optional insurance forms to cover your shipment in the rare chance it is lost or mishandled.
  • Colour scans of the shipment owner's passport picture and signature pages.

If you don't plan to sell the contents of your shipment and its combined worth is under AED 3,000, you can avoid customs duties. You must be present in Dubai when your shipment arrives. It is your responsibility to clear your possessions through customs using our appointed agent and pay any applicable charges. Then, collect your shipment and arrange its transportation to your Dubai address.

Our multilingual customer support team is available 24/7 to answer your UAE customs questions and offer advice.

Ship luggage to Dubai using our 4-step packing guide

Wrapping and packing your belongings before sending them to Dubai is essential. So, we highly recommend using a professional packing service. Otherwise, pack slowly and follow our expert tips below. For more in-depth packing tips, check out How to choose a box for shipping and Preparing large items for collection.

Tightly seal your box:

Gather all packing materials, such as scissors and parcel tape. Secure your box's base by folding in the small flaps and then the bigger flaps, then seal with three layers of overlapping parcel tape.

Cover any exposed edges with extra parcel tape, then wrap thoroughly around the base. Once the box is full, seal the lid using the same process.

Be gentle with fragile items:

Use two layers of bubble wrap on everything and several layers for delicate or expensive goods. Place heavy things at the bottom, then lighter things above them and towards the centre.

Fill gaps with cushioned materials like packing paper or hand towels. Give your box a little shake — if it makes any sound, add more cushioned materials until it stops.

Complete your inventory:

Log in to your account and list every item you're sending to Dubai. UAE customs officials will see it, so please ensure accuracy.

On two sides of every container, write your job number, box number, and the shipment owner's destination country and city/town with a black marker pen. Double-check your inventory to ensure all details match.

Get ready for collection day:

The maximum weight for each of your containers is 30kg/66lbs. This is to protect both you and our driver. Weigh everything individually on bathroom scales. If a bag, box, or suitcase exceeds the limit, place some items in a lighter container.

For a smooth collection day experience, transfer all your containers as close to your building's entrance as you can the evening before.

Seven Seas Worldwide were an amazing company to ship with. They made a pretty convoluted process hassle-free. Everyone I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. It was a great experience overall.

Best things to do in Dubai's most popular cities

UAE's most populous city attracts millions of visitors yearly thanks to exciting modern attractions, spectacular coastal experiences and historic quarters. From skyscrapers and souks to beaches and boat rides, there are endless things to see and do.

Here's our guide to four of the most-visited districts in Dubai:

Downtown Dubai

Downtown Dubai is known for its striking architecture, big attractions and liveliness, thanks to endless shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Wide streets and pedestrian-friendly routes make it easy to explore on foot.

Travel half a mile upwards: Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, provides eye-popping 360° views of the city, desert and coastline from 3 observation decks. Book ahead to see the city shift from daylight to a neon glow at sunset.

Watch some dancing water: the Dubai Fountain* features spectacular water shows set to dramatic music and sound effects. Shows run every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm, and the best views are from the promenade.

Shop 'til you drop: Dubai's biggest shopping centre features thousands of stores, including global brands and luxury boutiques. Plus a large aquarium, cinemas, restaurants, and an indoor ice rink.

Circle the city: Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard loops around the entire Downtown Dubai district. Lined with cafes, galleries, restaurants and art installations, it's a lively, walkable route for tourists and locals alike.

Jumeirah

Jumeirah is a long coastal district known for its public beaches, clear waters and views of Dubai's landmarks. It's an ever-popular spot for swimming and waterfront dining, with museums, mosques and a peaceful harbour within easy reach.

Relax in style: Jumeirah Beach boasts hot white sands, clear waters and views of the sailboat-shaped hotel, the Burj Al Arab. Enjoy family-friendly watersports, beachside dining, and relaxing strolls.

Explore the founding of the UAE: the Etihad Museum is a modern take on the country's 1970s beginnings, utilising original documents, interactive exhibits, and short films. The building itself resembles a scroll, symbolising the original constitution.

Take a rare guided tour: Jumeirah Mosque is one of the few public mosques in the UAE and is open to Muslim and non-Muslim visitors via guided tours. Learn about Dubai's local culture, religion, and architecture.

Dine by the sea: head to Jumeirah Fishing Harbour for relaxed seafood dining and quiet spots to watch boats come and go. Enjoy a variety of restaurants, cafes, and waterfront terraces ideal for a laid-back meal.

Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is a waterfront district built around a man-made canal. It is framed by skyscrapers and lined with boats, shops, and endless dining options. Enjoy slow beach days, boat tours, and dreamy evening walks along the promenade.

Enjoy a boat tour: book a dinner cruise or a sightseeing trip along the Marina and out to sea. Routes pass skyscrapers, quiet coves and Dubai's most famous landmarks, such as Ain Dubai and Burj Al Arab.

Walk a stunning 7km waterfront: the Marina promenade is a popular evening stroll with restaurants, cafes, and benches to watch the boats go by. Enjoy scenic views of yachts, towers, and the city skyline.

Visit a lively public beach: tourists and locals flock to the Beach, JBR, for sand, sea, and open-air shopping. Rent jet skis and sun lounges, and cool off with a swim before exploring the nearby restaurants and shops.

See Dubai from the heavens!: Skydive Dubai offers tandem jumps over the Palm Jumeirah. Enjoy mind-blowing views of the coast and Marina area, and feel the adrenaline rush as you descend back to earth.

Deira

Deira is for history lovers and is known for its traditional markets and proximity to Dubai Creek. Wander narrow lanes packed with busy stalls, ride traditional wooden boats, and visit restored centuries-old buildings.

Haggle with a shopkeeper: the Gold and Spice Souks are narrow market lanes full of stalls selling jewellery, herbs, spices, incense and souvenirs. Hunt for bargains or simply enjoy the colourful, fragrant atmosphere.

Explore one of Dubai's oldest schools: Al Ahmadiya School's restored building showcases traditional architecture and sheds light on early 1900s education in Dubai via exhibits and preserved classrooms.

Ride an abra on the creek: small, traditional wooden boats shuttle passengers across Dubai Creek. The short, cheap journey to Bur Dubai runs all day and delivers unique views of the city's historic waterfront.

Wander through the 1890s: The Heritage House delivers fascinating insights into family life in Dubai before the discovery of oil. Explore intact bedrooms, courtyards, artefacts, and traditional furnishings.
