How to prepare your luggage for international shipping

We ship anything from suitcases and boxes to golf clubs and guitars. Begin with an instant free shipping quote, make a booking, and then choose a convenient date for us to collect your luggage. Before we arrive at your home, please pack your boxes and prepare your bags so we can transport them to our nearest depot. For your and our driver's safety, we can't accept any containers over 30kg/66lbs. So, weigh each item on bathroom scales and split any contents that exceed the limit.

At your nearest Seven Seas Worldwide depot, we'll place your suitcases into chemically strengthened cardboard containers. As a result, your luggage will have complete protection during its overseas shipping journey to Australia.

However, to avoid extra charges, you must provide us with accurate measurements and be sure to account for things that protrude, like wheels and handles.

To measure your suitcases, follow these three simple steps:

  1. Place your suitcase on its smallest side.
  2. Measure the height, length and width (aka depth), including handles, buckles or wheels. Our maximum accepted suitcase sizes are 89cm in height, 59cm in length, and 49cm in width.
  3. We'll place your suitcase in a larger box at our depot, so please ensure accuracy by double-checking your measurements.

Preparing sports equipment and oversized items

If you need to ship a bike, surfboard or golf bag to Australia, look no further. As one of the world's warmest and best-loved outdoor destinations, there's no better place to play sports. From the rocky outbacks to pristine sandy beaches, visitors travel far and wide to join in the fun!

As with suitcases and rucksacks, we box your sports equipment into specially shaped, double-walled cardboard containers at our depot. However, you will need to securely prepare large items before collection. Include original bags or cases and wrap everything in several layers of bubble wrap.

Also, these goods must be thoroughly clean and dry before packing and shipping to Australia. You could face delays or charges if environmental agencies find any organic matter. Please check our Australia Customs Advice page for more information.

Send luggage to Australia with our high-quality boxes

When shipping to Australia, we offer robust cardboard boxes to protect additional items not packed in your suitcases or rucksacks. Our most popular shipping containers are Large (perfect for linen, teddy bears, hats, etc) and Standard (books, paperwork, stationary). Please see below for the exact dimensions. Order more shipping boxes than you need, and we'll pick up any that are unused and still in brand-new condition for free.

You can ship to Australia using your own boxes and bags. But please avoid laundry bags, plastic crates, used food boxes and bin liners. Such containers are weak and will likely break and cause damage to the rest of your belongings.
