What kind of shipping boxes do you supply?

Our overseas shippers can provide sturdy boxes to protect your belongings during long journeys. Made from chemically-strengthened cardboard, our most popular container sizes are Large and Standard. See below for the exact dimensions and packing suggestions. To avoid running out of boxes, we suggest overordering. If you have any unused containers still in brand-new condition, we'll collect them for free.

Specially-shaped boxes made from the same quality cardboard are available for extra-large items, such as bicycles. Before collection, please pack these goods securely. We will then transport them to our depot and box them.

You can use your own containers. But please avoid laundry bags, plastic crates, used food boxes and bin liners, as they break easily and could damage the rest of your belongings. Do you need to ship large household items like sofas and washing machines? If so, your most cost-effective option is our international removals service, the MoveCube®.

We simplify the Belgian customs process

As experienced worldwide shippers, we make shipping from the UK to Belgium easy. We take care of quarantine and customs inspections, so you don't have to. But, there are some import regulations you should know.

As with all countries, Belgian authorities have a list of items banned from importation to protect its population and the environment. Please reference our regularly updated Prohibited Goods page before packing to avoid any charges or delays.

Log into your online account and complete the following documents:

  • An Inventory itemising everything you are shipping. Belgian customs officials will see this, so accuracy is a must.
  • Optional insurance forms for extra cover in the rare case your items are lost or suffer damage.
  • Colour scans of the shipment owner's passport picture and signature pages.

Used personal goods may be imported into Belgium duty and tax-free for EU citizens, provided they are at least six months old, and you do not resell them. When arriving from non-EU countries, you must have lived outside the EU for at least twelve months. Plus, you must import your goods within a year of arrival.

Please note that customs officials may request the shipment owner arrives in the country before their belongings reach Belgium.

Visit the official Belgian Customs website for a detailed breakdown. If you have any questions, our multilingual customer support team are happy to help.

Our easy-to-follow packing guide for international shipping

Consider hiring a professional packer to ensure your belongings arrive intact. Otherwise, give yourself plenty of time to wrap and pack each item, and follow our helpful 4-step guide below.

For more in-depth advice, reference our How to choose a box for shipping and Preparing large items for collection pages.

Secure your boxes:

Gather all your packing materials, such as parcel tape and bubble wrap. Secure your box's base by folding in the small flaps, then the large flaps, and sealing them shut with three layers of overlapping parcel tape.

Cover exposed edges with more parcel tape, then tightly wrap around the bottom of your container. Once your box is full, secure the lid using the same process.

Carefully wrap delicate items:

Use bubble wrap to cover all items and several layers for fragile and valuable items. Place heavy goods along the bottom layer and lighter goods above and away from the sides of your container.

Fill gaps with soft material like packing paper or towels. Give your box a gentle shake. If you hear a sound, add more soft materials.

Fill in your online Inventory:

Log in to your account and complete your Inventory — a list of every item in each box and bag you're shipping. Accuracy is essential, as Belgian customs officials will see it.

Using a marker pen, write the job number, box number, and shipment owner's destination country and city on two sides of each container. Reference your Inventory to ensure all details match.

Organise your boxes for collection:

For the safety of you and our driver, the limit of each container is 30kg/66lbs. Weigh all boxes or bags one at a time on bathroom scales. If a container is too heavy, transfer items to a lighter container.

Lastly, take all your luggage as close to the front of your building as possible. Doing so ensures a smooth collection day experience.

I had a great experience with Seven Seas Worldwide. Their live tracking was very useful (and fun to check up on as it slowly made its way around the world), and the contact centre support was prompt and responsive (no wait time!). Filling out the documents online was so easy. The driver was friendly and helpful, calling me 15 minutes before he was scheduled to arrive.
