What happens if I exceed the maximum weight per item? |
You can avoid exceeding the maximum weight of 30 Kg / 40 kg per box by avoiding heavy items, such as books, photo albums, CD’s and DVD’s as these uickly accumulate weight. If you wish to send a lot of heavy items, please use a Book Box as that is stronger and holds proportionally more weight than a T-Chest. Should you exceed the maximum weight per item, you will be charged accordingly. Our driver can provide you with an additional Book Box so you can transfer your items accordingly while he is loading the remainder of your excess baggage. Should your whole excess baggage shipment have to be repacked, our driver may have to move on to his/her next scheduled collection and you will have to arrange another collection date. Unfortunately, there will be an additional charge if that is the case. So, please ensure you check the weight of your items if you can; most bathroom scales can be used.

If I order my empty boxes today, when can they be delivered? |
In some regions we can deliver the boxes the next day (except Sundays) if you order them before 14.00. In other regions it may take up to three working days.
Can the day and time for delivery / collection / redelivery be specified? |
Yes, it can. Due to our innovative and sophisticated international shipping operations to schedule our delivery / collection and redelivery, we can advise you of a 1-hour slot to make deliveries and collections. We will send you an SMS message the afternoon before your delivery / collection or redelivery is due specifying the 1-hour allocated slot so you don’t have to wait in all day and can get on with more important things. You can also log in to your Welcome Page on our website and view the allocated time there. If you do not have a mobile or access to a computer you can call our toll-free number for our 24/7 Customer Service Centre and an agent will advise you of your allocated time slot. In countries where we use partners to deliver part of our service; we aim to provide you with an am / pm timeframe.
Do I have to wait in for the driver all day or can I arrange a specific time for delivery / collection? |
You do not need to be available to receive our empty packing boxes as long as you provide us with information about a safe place where they can be left, i.e. in a shed or with a neighbour etc. When your excess baggage shipment is collected, you must be present. Alternatively, you must inform us if you leave it with someone else for collection. When we redeliver your excess baggage shipment at the destination address, you or your nominee has to be available to receive the shipment. In regions where Seven Seas Worldwide delivers direct, we aim to provide you with a one-hour delivery timeframe so you don’t have to wait in all day and can get on with other important matters.

Why would I consider insuring my excess baggage shipment and what types of insurance do you offer? |
Insuring your excess baggage shipment gives you peace of mind. After all, these are your personal effects and are therefore important to you otherwise you would not send them. We offer two types of insurance to assist you; please consider the following when you make a decision:
All Risk Insurance Cover: this is calculated on 5% of the ‘replacement value’ of the inventoried items. It includes the total loss of the entire shipment, theft of items from the shipment and water damage to the consignment. ‘Replacement value’ equals the value it would cost to repurchase lost items.
Total Loss Insurance Cover: this is calculated on 3.5% of the ‘replacement value’ of the shipment. It includes total loss of the entire shipment but not partial loss of the shipment.
PLEASE NOTE: As with all insurance there is an ‘insurance excess liability’ amount whereby the customer is liable for an initial proportionate amount of the claim being registered. In this instance the ‘excess liability’ for insurance placed with Aviva is currently based upon a UK Sterling amount of £50.00 (fifty pounds) or the equivalence in local currency.
All claims are subject to the standard Insurance Terms & Conditions. There is an excess payment on any single claim.

What are the price and service differences between ‘Door-to-Door’ and ‘Door-to-Depot’ international shipments? |
Our ‘Door-to-Door’ excess baggage service collects your excess luggage from your originating address and drops it off at your destination address; we clear the excess baggage shipment through Customs for you. This service includes all charges to the destination address.
Our ‘Door-to-Depot’ service collects your excess baggage from your originating address and drops it off at a depot near the destination port or airport; it is your responsibility to clear your excess luggage shipment through Customs and to arrange the delivery of your goods from the depot to your destination address. There will be destination charges if you chose this excess baggage service.
When do charges occur at the destination? |
Our Seven Seas Worldwide Customer Policy is to inform you upfront about all possible destination charges we are aware of. Our ‘Door-to-Door’ excess baggage service includes all charges to the final destination address. However, uncertainties can arise if you send items that attract duty. Items such as newly purchased items, alcohol or cigarettes will attract duty in the destination country and you have to pay the relevant duty. Some countries have strict Environmental Controls which can lead to cleaning charges. Shoes, camping euipment or bicycles for instance, could attract those charges, so make sure you thoroughly clean all such items before you pack them. We will advise you when these conditions apply but the responsibility rests with you to minimize the charges. When using our Door-to-Depot service, charges at the destination will occur.
