How to prepare luggage for shipping to Malaysia

We can ship almost anything to Malaysia, from suitcases and boxes to guitars and golf clubs. Begin with a no-obligation, free online quote, place a booking and select a date so we can collect your luggage. Before collection day, prepare all your boxes and bags so we can safely move them to our closest depot. Please note that for the safety of you and our driver, the weight limit for each container is 30kg/66lbs. Weigh everything one at a time on bathroom scales. If a box, bag or suitcase exceeds the limit, move some items to a lighter container.

At our depot, we place suitcases inside chemically strengthened cardboard boxes for protection during the long journey to Malaysia. Avoid unwanted charges by providing precise dimensions of your suitcases, including anything that sticks out.

For an accurate suitcase measurement, follow these three steps:

  1. Stand your suitcase upright.
  2. Measure its height, length and width (depth), including anything that protrudes, like wheels and handles. Our maximum accepted suitcase size is 89cm height, 59cm length, and 49cm width.
  3. We'll place your suitcase inside a bigger box at our nearest depot, but please double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy.

How to prepare sports equipment and musical instruments

Are you hoping to go on some sporty adventures? Malaysia is ideal for many outdoor pursuits thanks to hilly landscapes, stunning beaches and gorgeous weather! As well as excess luggage, you can ship bicycles, golf bags, surfboards and more to Malaysia. From mountain biking through dense jungles to hitting high waves on pristine beaches, visitors travel far and wide for the pleasure.

Like suitcases and backpacks, we box sports equipment and musical instruments into specially shaped, double-walled cardboard boxes at our nearest depot. Securely prepare your belongings using original bags or cases and several layers of bubble wrap to ensure a safe journey to Malaysia.

Remember to thoroughly clean and dry your equipment before collection. Failure to do so may result in fines or delays if an environmental agent in Malaysia discovers any organic matter. Check out our Malaysia Customs Advice page for further information.

We send baggage to Malaysia in robust shipping boxes

If your suitcases and rucksacks are overflowing, don’t worry. We offer secure cardboard shipping boxes to protect excess belongings when shipping luggage to Malaysia. Our most popular containers are Large (ideal for big, soft items) and Standard (for small, heavy items). See below for the exact dimensions. Order more boxes than needed, and we'll collect any that remain unused and in brand-new condition for no extra charge.

You can use your own boxes and bags if you wish. But please avoid laundry bags, plastic crates, used food boxes and bin liners. Such weak containers may easily break and damage the rest of your baggage shipment.

I had personal belongings moved from London to Malaysia in the summer of 2023. I approached six companies for quotes, and Seven Seas Worldwide came back as one of the best. The whole delivery process was painless, and step-by-step processes were explained very easily via my online account and short videos. Both collection and delivery were punctual, and on the few occasions I had to use their customer service, I found the staff pleasant and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
