Starting from humble beginnings in the mid-90s with just a few routes, we've grown into a global giant operating 27 depots across 12 countries, handling over 40,000 shipments yearly and transporting them to more than 100 international destinations. From humble beginnings to global reach: our milestones
1996
Brothers John and Will Henderson founded J & W Industries Ltd. in Kent, the UK, where the company remains based today. Their goal was to simplify the process of moving personal effects overseas, providing quality shipping with zero-hidden fees. Our debut offering was a baggage shipping service to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa for expats living in London.
The company was renamed Seven Seas Container Line Ltd.. We expanded our services to include UK-based international students returning home to China and Hong Kong. We also opened our first business centre in the United Kingdom, offering multilingual customer support by phone and email.

2001
Accelerated growth led to the opening of our first international depot in Melbourne, Australia. Customers could now enjoy a complete door-to-door service to and from the UK.
After the success of our Melbourne facility, we opened our first New Zealand depot in Auckland, expanding our shipping reach across Australasia and beyond.
2003
2004
We changed to our current name, Seven Seas Worldwide, and established five depots across the UK: London, Manchester, Swindon, Newcastle, Birmingham, and Glasgow. We also took a significant step by opening our first USA depot in Charleston, South Carolina.
Establishing a presence in Asia, we opened our first depot in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, followed later in the year by another depot in Hong Kong.

Continued success across North America led to our first Canadian depot in Toronto.
Our first of many South African depots opened in Johannesburg.

2012
We launched the International MoveCube®, a robust wooden container designed to protect household goods and simplify international removals, initially from the UK to Australia.
We opened our first European depot outside the UK, in Belgium, to provide seamless shipping, removals and storage options across the continent.
2016
2023
We announced a MoveCube® route to India, followed by significant expansion to and from several towns and cities across Florida and Texas in the US, Nova Scotia, and Halifax in Canada. We also opened a depot in Singapore, one of Asia's busiest hubs for shipping, transhipment and logistics.
In a significant year of growth, we introduced our express parcel shipping service from the UK to China for single boxes or bags in under 10 days. This was followed by the opening of our Port Elizabeth depot in South Africa and the launch of our door-to-door MoveCube® service to Taiwan. Further expansions included removals and baggage routes to and from Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Washington state in the US, as well as Cairns and Townsville in Australia. We ended the year on a high by winning the 2024 Expat Recommended Moving Services prize, as voted for by expats worldwide.

Today, we can accommodate large removals via multiple MoveCubes®, and our three worldwide business centres support customers in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Thai, Afrikaans and Malay. Looking ahead, we have exciting plans to simplify the shipping experience even further, expand our reach, and strengthen our presence in international logistics.
