  Our service
expand What are differences between ‘Door-to-Door’ and ‘Door-to-Depot’ international shipments?
Our Door-to-Door shipping service will take your shipment from the door of the building (kerbside) at the collection address and redeliver it to the door of the building (kerbside) at the destination address. The shipment will have been cleared through the Customs Authorities and the relevant Environmental Agencies, for example, Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS), Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) in New Zealand. All our excess baggage shipping charges are included in our quoted price except duty, taxes, excise and cleaning charges which could arise from the contents of your excess baggage shipment and are charged by either Customs Authorities or Environmental Agencies. " Daily storage charges" could also arise.
Our Door-to-Depot (also known as Door-to-Port) excess baggage shipping service will take your shipment from the door of the building (kerbside) at the collection address and redeliver it to the depot/warehouse that is hte nearest to the airport or sea port of your destination address. The shipment in contrast to the Door-to-Door shipping services , will NOT  be cleared through the Customs Authorities or passed through the Environmental Agencies except sea shipments to China. All destination charges, which are often specific to the country that you are sending your excess baggage to, will be your responsibility to pay and is payable to the ground agent.
This is not an exhaustive list but charges may include the following: handling fees, agency fee, document charge and custms clearance, tax and duty if applicable.
expand When do charges occur at the destination?
Our Seven Seas Worldwide Customer Policy is to inform you upfront about all possible destination charges we are aware of. Our ‘Door-to-Door’ excess baggage service includes all charges to the final destination address. However, uncertainties can arise if you send items that attract duty. Newly purchased items, alcohol or cigarettes will attract duty in the destination country and you will have to pay the relevant duty. Some countries have strict Environmental Controls which can lead to cleaning charges. Shoes, camping equipment or bicycles for instance, could attract those charges, so make sure you thoroughly clean all such items before you pack them. We will advise you when these conditions apply but the responsibility rests with you to minimize the charges. When using our Door-to-Depot service, charges at the destination will occur.
Our packing cartons and packing material
expand Are there charges for empty cartons?
There is no charge for our specifically designed shipment cartons. It is difficult to anticipate how many cartons you may require to pack your excess baggage so we encourage you to order a few extras to be delivered. Seven Seas Worldwide requires a non-refundable deposit when you place an order .This is not an extra charge and will be deducted from your final balance.
expand Can I use my own cartons?
Yes, but please ensure that your cartons are made of strong cardboard. If you are unsure, please use our cartons, they are FREE, chemically hardened and specifically designed for international sea and air shipping protection of your excess baggage. If you do send your own cartons, please provide us with their exact dimensions (length, width and height) so we can give you an exact quote.
expand Do you provide FREE packing material?
We provide FREE packing material which is specifically designed for long-distance international shipping of excess baggage to protect your excess baggage (bubble wrap, marker pen, packing tape). This is automatically delivered to you at the same time as we deliver our empty packing boxes to you.
expand How long can I keep the cartons for?
There is no time limit. Please do not leave the delivery of your empty cartons till the last minute, allow yourself plenty of time to pack.
  Delivery and collection
expand Can the day and time for delivery / collection/redelivery be specified?
Yes the day for delivery, collection and redelivery can be specified. If the collection, delivery or redelivery address is in a city serviced by our own Seven Seas Worldwide drivers you will receive a SMS message the evening prior to your collection , delivery or redelivery indicating the time-slot our driver will be with you. This is an estimated time and depends on traffic conditions. The driver is allocated 10 minutes for your delivery, collection or redelivery. Should you not receive a SMS message you can use your online link which will be emailed to you when you place your order to access your personal order details and view the time allocared. Alternatively you can call us before 6.00pm (18.00 hours).

Please note that if the delivery, collection or redelivery is in a city serviced by one of our agents we are unable to give you a time-slot.You do not need to be available to receive our empty packing cartons as long as you provide us with information about a safe place where they can be left, i.e. in a shed or with a neighbour etc. When your packed excess baggage is collected, you or a trusted friend or relative must be present. You must inform us if you leave it with someone else for collection. When we redeliver your excess baggage at the final address, you or your nominee has to be available to receive the shipment.
expand If I order my empty cartons today, when can they be delivered?
In some regions we can deliver the cartons the next day (except Sundays) if you order them before 14.00. In other regions it may take up to three working days.
expand What happens if I exceed the maximum weight per item?
You can avoid exceeding the maximum weight of 30 Kg / 40 kg per carton by avoiding heavy items, such as books, photo albums, CD’s and DVD’s as these quickly accumulate weight. If you wish to send a lot of heavy items, please use a Standard Carton (Book Box) as that is stronger and holds proportionally more weight than a Large Carton (T-Chest). All cartons and items are weighed on arrival at the Seven Seas Worldwide depot ,should one of your cartons or items exceed the maximum weight per item, you will be charged accordingly. So, please ensure you check the weight of your items if you can; most bathroom scales can be used.
Transport insurance options
expand Why would I consider insuring my excess baggage shipment and what type of insurance do you offer?
Insuring your excess baggage gives you peace of mind. After all, these are your personal effects and are therefore important to you otherwise you would not send or store them.

Total Loss Insurance
Seven Seas Worldwide automatically provides Total Loss Insurance cover of £100.00 or equivalent in country of origin currency for each carton, suitcase, holdall, backpack and other individual packed items, Total Loss Insurance will incur an additional charge. It is company policy to recommend this minimal insurance cover but you do have the option to opt out if you do not wish this insurance cover.

All Risk Insurance
The Insurance Premium payable for cover is calculated as 5% of the ‘replacement value’ of the inventoried items. It includes the total loss of the entire shipment, theft of items from the shipment and water damage to the consignment. ‘Replacement value’ equals the value it would cost to repurchase lost items.PLEASE NOTE: As with all insurance there is an ‘insurance excess liability’ amount whereby the customer is liable for an initial proportionate amount of the claim being registered. In this instance the ‘excess liability’ for insurance placed with Aviva is currently based upon a UK Sterling amount of £50.00 (fifty pounds) or the equivalence in local currency. All claims are subject to the standard Insurance Terms & Conditions. There is an excess payment on any single claim.
